GATEWAY ARCHERS EARN NO. 2 SEED IN 2026 BEEP BASEBALL WORLD SERIES
Athletes who are blind or visually impaired will compete against 20 teams from across the country
ST. LOUIS, MO/BELLEVILLE, ILL. — The Gateway Archers, St. Louis’ competitive beep baseball team for athletes who are blind or visually impaired, will compete in the 2026 Beep Baseball World Series Aug. 2-8 in Aurora, Illinois. Entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed (17-2), the Archers will open Pool B play against the Atlanta Chaos on Monday, Aug. 3, at 5:30 p.m. at the Stuart Sports Complex.
Founded by local nonprofit MindsEye in 2020, the Gateway Archers have quickly emerged as one of the nation’s top beep baseball programs. Following a strong 2026 season, the team enters this year’s World Series among the tournament favorites and is seeking its first national title.
This year’s tournament, which marks the 50th anniversary of the National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA), will feature 21 teams from across the country. The event showcases the athleticism, teamwork and competitive spirit of athletes who are blind or visually impaired through beep baseball, an adaptive version of the game that uses a beeping ball and buzzing bases, allowing players to rely on sound to hit, field and score.
In addition to the on-field action, the NBBA will host several events celebrating its 50th anniversary. A Kids of Our League (KOOL) clinic will take place Sunday, Aug. 2, from 3-5 p.m., introducing young athletes to the sport. The 50th Year Celebration and Hall of Fame Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5-8 p.m. at the Sheraton Lisle Naperville hotel.
