Location
The Saint Louis Science Center is located at 5050 Oakland Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.
Parking
Parking at our Oakland Building at 5050 Oakland Avenue costs $15 through Labor Day. After Labor Day parking costs $12. Parking is free for Science Center members year-round.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking is currently not available at the McDonnell Planetarium, which is connected to the Oakland Building by a walkable Skybridge over Interstate 64/Highway 40. The Planetarium entrance is closed.
The Oakland Building parking lot features parking for vehicles displaying disabled placards. Visitors may wish to drop off individuals with mobility concerns in the circle drives in front of the Oakland entrance.
There is also a bike rack outside the Oakland entrance.
Call-a-Ride, Ride Shares, Taxi
Visitors may drop off individuals in the circle drives in front of the Oakland entrance.
Public Transportation
The nearest Metrolink station is the Central West End. It is about a 15-minute walk from there with multiple turns. We do not recommend walking from the station. You could walk from the Metrolink to Euclid at Barnes Hospital and catch the 59 bus, but a ride share is an easier option.
Tickets and Will Call
General admission to the Science Center is free. For ticketed attractions, you may purchase tickets to your right when you enter. There is normally a zig-zagging line cordoned off by stanchions and rope. A Science Center staff member should be stationed at the front to help direct you.
Audio Description Devices
AD devices can be picked up just inside the exhibit hall at the start of the tour.
A MindsEye Ambassadpr will need an ID to exchange for the device. We will keep your ID during the performance and return it to you when you return the device after the performance. AD receivers are small, handheld devices. They have a standard size headphone jack, and you are strongly encouraged to bring your own headphones. Sanitized headphones can also be provided at no cost. These headsets are yours to take with you and bring back next time.
Restrooms
When you enter from Oakland, restrooms are to your right next to the gift shop. There are restrooms on every level of the Science Center and the lower two levels of the Planetarium.
Wheelchair Rental
Wheelchairs and strollers are free to rent and are available in the lobbies of the Oakland Building and the McDonnell Planetarium. The Science Center also has a limited number of motorized scooters available for a $25 fee. Please ask a Visitor Services team member and they will be happy to assist you. Please note that supplies are limited.
Service Animal Policy
Service animals are welcome inside the Science Center as they are specifically trained to aid a person with a disability. Pets are not allowed.
