On Saturday, October 9th, MindsEye’s own Gateway Archers BeepBall team came together with members of the St. Louis University Ophthalmology department for a great afternoon of BeepBall!
The SLU group was spearheaded by Dr. Thomas Porter, a SLUCare physician specializing in Optometry and Low Vision. Dr. Porter is a former MindsEye Board Member. He is also a past president of the Missouri Optometric Association and the 1988 recipient of its Optometrist of the Year award. From 1985 through 1991 Dr. Porter served on the Missouri State Board of Optometry and was elected president in 1990. Dr. Porter sees several Archers as patients, including Kyle, Sean, Kim, Chad, and Liam.
The Archers had a great time running drills with the SLU team and teaching them the finer points of BeepBall. The training session was followed by an exciting exhibition match.
