Vince Kwiatkowski is the MindsEye Spotlight Volunteer for February 2021. Vince is a “newer volunteer,” and has been reading for MindsEye for about 2 years. Despite COVID, he comes into the studio every Tuesday to record the Wall Street Journal. MindsEye Broadcast Director Tom Williams got a chance to interview Vince last Tuesday.
Tom: When and how did you start volunteering with MindsEye?
Vince: It has been about two years since I was allowed the honor of going on the air at MindsEye. I was referred by Bette Meyer of the Victorious Missionaries, after being suggested by my dear friend, Joan Scharf, of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Tom: What do you like to read in your spare time?
Vince: I love cruising the NASA website for the latest Mars projects, as well as other inter-planetary explorations. I spend a little time reading my Bible (not as much as I should!), and the latest minutes and projects for the Village of Shiloh Planning Commission, of which I’ve been a member for over a decade and served as the chairman for several years.
Tom: Do you have a favorite MindsEye moment or memory?
Vince: Yes I do!!! It was seeing Tom Williams’ face just after the mama deer and baby fawn came through the front window of the station.
Tom: Favorite Style Pizza?
Vince: Without a doubt it is an Imo’s Supreme pizza.
Tom: Where did you go to high school?
Vince: Granite City Senior High. “All from Granite yell a little louder. I’m from Granite couldn’t be prouder!” BUT… I’ve lived in Shiloh for about 24 years and LOVE it there.
